Midsummer weddings look effortless in photographs and are not. Power, water, kitchens, parking, drainage and toilets all had to be brought in, and the ground had been dry for a fortnight, which changes how you anchor everything.

What the guests saw was a field, a long dusk and dancing until two. What it took was a five-page site plan and a team on the ground for three days.
