Rose and Harry wanted the ceremony outdoors, above the water, in late afternoon light — and they wanted it for ninety people who were all flying in. The Amalfi coast is generous with the first part and unforgiving with the second.

We took over a family-run property outside Ravello for three days, which solved the logistics: guests arrived the day before, everyone stayed on site, and nobody spent the morning of the wedding on a coastal road. The ceremony ran at six, the terrace held the sun until nine, and dinner was six courses at one long table under the pergola.

The flowers came from a grower forty minutes inland that morning. The band was local. Almost nothing travelled, which is the only way a wedding abroad stays calm.
